Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him;
Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
As i spent the last few minutes with our beloved Chancey, I was so moved by the love and trust in her eyes as she looked at me to say "See you later". When she had the problem in her brain suddenly and could not walk, she gave her hardest attempt to crawl to me and although she was in deep distress, her only thoughts were obvious, she wanted to be with me. That moment showed me so much about God's love for His creation and how we respond to Him. It broke my heart.
How do we look to God when we are in distress? Do we trust Him as Job says? Do we look at Him with peace, trust, love and adoration in our eyes even if it costs us our life? Even if we do not get our prayers answered the way we want? Do we see Him as the only solution to our problems as Chancey looked to me? Do we allow Him to fix things His way trusting that He has the best intentions in His heart for us. Perhaps a loved one went home in spite of our prayers for healing? Will we trust that His ways are perfect and the best in spite of what we see going on in the world today?
When I was talking with the vet, I had to die to myself and my desire not to let her go. The vet gave me the options and when I said "I can''t let her suffer anymore to try to keep her alive for my sake", he looked very relieved and said "You made the correct choice". Knowing I did the right thing did not make it hurt any less.
God made a correct choice for us. He doesn't want us to die. He doesn't want us to suffer for eternity. He so loved us He sent His only Son Jesus to die for us. Imagine His grief as He watched His Son die for us.
Three days later Jesus rose from the dead and overcame the grave.
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?
Will you trust Him no matter what happens? No matter what you experience, no matter what you see? Even when prayers seem to be not answered?
Romans 10:8- 9 But what does it say? "the word is near you even in your mouth and in your heart"-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
It really is that simple. It begins with simple faith and trust. No matter who you are no matter what you are facing, no matter were you have been or what you have done, come to Him. Jesus said "I will never turn away anyone who comes to me".
The first step is to come to Jesus. If we are sincere in that step, He will take care of the rest. We have all heard the religious folks with the turn or burn message. It was His love, grace and mercy even to this day in spite of what life throws my way that keeps me loving Him. Jesus is faithful and He is alive. You can experience His love also. Just take the first step and ask Him for help.
Chancey was more than just a dog. She was a very loved and important family member and partner. She gave us memories we will cherish forever.
The best is not yet to come. The best came and now lives forever in our hearts. Yes there will be another "best" and there will be more precious treasured furry memories in the days to come. I thank God for blessing us with Chancey's life, her love and dedication to us was amazing. My dad who has had hunting dogs all his life said she was the best we ever had. Did she obey perfectly? No. Did she do things perfectly? No. Was she loved anyway? Yes. Think of how our Father looks upon you. He is not angry with you. He is not out to strike you down or plague you with sickness. He does not reward us as we deserve. He gives us unfailing grace and mercy. His love is beyond our understanding and His mercies are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness.I made horrible mistakes in my life even after becoming a Christian, yet Jesus shows me that He loves me so much anyway. His love is the same for you. Take the first step and just talk to Him. Ask Him into your life.
God bless you and thank you all for your love and support.
